Healing

Helping You Heal Better

Permanent makeup procedures are pretty similar to getting a tattoo. At Permanent Makeup By Kimberly, we use specialized needles to mechanically deposit ink within your skin to create various makeup effects. This process does injure the skin and can also cause mild bleeding during the procedure.

While there is no downtime required with this treatment, the treated area will scab over, and you should resist the urge to pick at these scabs. If you notice any inflammation or redness, you can use an ice pack covered in a clean cloth to soothe it. We offer step-by-step guidelines to prevent anything from interfering with your body’s natural healing process.

There is no need to worry about the scabbing and flaking of your skin since they are a natural outcome of the procedure. It indicates your natural cell turnover process, at the end of which you can enjoy your desired results. It is natural for your body to react this way, and we are always here to help answer any questions you may have.

Care

The Aftercare Process

Permanent makeup treatments don’t immediately show the final results. This is because the pigments tend to look bolder initially, and your skin will also scab over a few days after PMU treatments. It is crucial to take good care of the treated area during this phase, after which you can enjoy your new look.

For the first two days, your permanent makeup will look at least two shades darker and will soon start scabbing over. The first few days following the treatment are crucial, and during this period, stay away from other skin procedures and harsh skin care products that irritate your skin. Avoid swimming pools to keep infections at bay, and keep the treated area dry for at least a week.

You will need to avoid sun exposure to protect the color from fading and avoid hot and spicy foods to prevent aggravating the area. Two weeks or so after your treatment, you should see your desired result emerge.

Process

Our Permanent Makeup Procedure

All our permanent makeup services adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene. We keep our Health Board-approved facility meticulously sanitized to ensure you never run a risk of infection. We always begin with a one-on-one consultation to understand your requirements and recommend the ideal service or package for you.

Before depositing the pigments, our experts will always draw on or outline your desired makeup with a pencil. This helps you understand what the outcome will be like before we start filling in your skin with our micropigmentation tool. Our team will also use an anesthetic cream to numb your skin before they begin the PMU procedure.

All our treatments come with zero downtime, which means you are free to carry on with your day immediately after your treatment. However, to avoid fading or aggravating the skin, you should avoid any strenuous activity that could cause you to sweat and stay away from direct sun exposure too.

Before

Stay away from any facial treatments and procedures for at least a week before your appointment. This includes facials, peels, waxing, tanning, laser treatments, and fillers. Do let us know if you are on any medication too.

During

Our team will always try to make your PMU experience as comfortable as possible by reducing pain and easing discomfort. We'll keep you updated throughout the treatment so that you know what is happening at all times.

After

Proper aftercare is crucial to natural healing and ensuring you see the best results. We offer detailed guidelines on how to care for your scabbed or inflamed skin and suggest products you can use to boost recovery.

Here are some of the most common queries we receive from our prospective clients:

  • Am I a good candidate for PMU?

If you love wearing makeup and are committed to your signature makeup look, permanent makeup can save you a lot of time and hassle every morning. This is especially true for those who lead fast-paced lives and may not have the time to indulge in perfecting their brows and lips every day.

Interestingly, permanent makeup can prove to be beneficial in several unexpected ways too. Many of our clients have requested it not just for the aesthetic appeal, but  also see it as a correction tool. We can use these techniques to create the illusion of fuller lips, filled-in eyebrows, cover irregularities, and much more.

  • How long do the results last?

Permanent makeup techniques deposit pigment in the dermal layer of your skin, which means it does not get rubbed or washed off. However, it still rests in the upper layers of your skin and is affected by sun exposure, skin care products, and other environmental factors. As a result, your permanent makeup will start to fade in time.

After a few years, the intensity of the color will start declining, and you will need to come in for a touch-up. Until that happens, you are free to treat these areas as you normailly would, without any fear of the color bleeding, fading, or smudging.

  • How can I contribute to the healing process?

Firmly follow all the instructions you receive from our team after your procedure. They will give you specific guidelines to follow - stick to their prescribed routine to see long-lasting results.

Avoid scratching or picking at your scabs since this can prolong your healing journey and ruin the appearance of your permanent makeup as well. Too much exposure to sunlight immediately after the procedure can further aggravate your sensitive skin and make it more inflamed.

Depending on your skin type, you might have to deal with dry, flaky skin, itchiness, or inflammation. Stay patient, and you can soon enjoy your new permanent makeup once your skin heals!

  • How do I pick the right color?

We let you choose from a myriad of colored pigments to create a custom permanent makeup look of your choice. Sometimes, several permanent makeup pigments need to be combined to create natural-looking results that go well with a person's skin tone. Our team has the experience and skill to understand each client's skin and create the perfect shade that accentuates their features.

Our specialists have a deep understanding of color therapy and can recommend the right combination of colors to help you achieve your desired results. You can also bring along your favorite makeup products as a reference for the color you prefer.
